This office provides a relaxed, informal environment open to the entire Linux & VM community attending SHARE. First-time attendees are especially invited to come in at their leisure, between sessions, if there are no other interesting sessions, or even to bring their lunch! There will often be other attendees (both new and old) to ask questions of or relate experiences with (VM and Linux activities, IBM, whatever). Speakers from VM and Linux sessions are encouraged to place additional and leftover handouts in this room for those who missed them. There are often raffles to enter, new publications to peruse, and questionnaires to fill out. |

| Abstract: |
In this Sunday working session, you will have an opportunity to meet some of the volunteers who work behind the scenes to make the SHARE Conference one of the best places to get education on many topics. This is an informal session where we ask people to volunteer to chair sessions, pass along information from the SHARE volunteer organization and the MVS Program, cover changes in our organization, and then open the session for general comments and questions. During this session, you will have time to let us know what types of sessions are valuable to you. SHARE sessions are a two-way communication medium; the speaker is sharing information with you and is looking for you to share your opinions and comments back. This is a valuable place to meet up with the volunteers and project representatives, who can introduce you to other volunteers, representatives from IBM, vendor representatives, and speakers. To find out more about the MVS Core Technologies project and volunteers before the conference, go to the SHARE website, click the Volunteer tab, select Programs and Projects, slide over MVS Program, and click on MVS Core Technologies Project. Check out the web page after the conference, too. Stop in and determine what you can do to help the conference and sessions run smoothly. We are always looking for new people to join and new ideas. You might even find that we have people in the room who have an answer to your question. |

| Abstract: |
Join the Integrating Innovative Technologies Project (I2T, which you may have known as ITEC or ETEC) and prepare for an exciting week. The I2T project focuses on the issues, usability and advances associated with deploying new and emerging IT technologies, as well as on their integration into current business applications. Topics covered include: IT standards, privacy and ethics, system usability, accessibility, artificial intelligence, collaborative computing, information overload, mobile computing, software engineering and project management, data mining, multimedia, and quality and risk issues associated with the deployment and management of these technologies, in large, small and medium businesses. These topics are interdisciplinary in the sense that they impact the entirety of IT. At this session, the project members will review the activities for the upcoming week and begin discussion of events for SHARE in Boston. If you have ideas for the project, want to help out during this week, or if you are just curious, be sure to attend. If you are interested in focusing on emerging technologies with a practical, business application perspective (as implemented in the 'real world'), then this is the project to become involved with! |
