Location: Washington State Convention Center, Room 307
Program: Application Architecture Development and Integration
Project: CICS
Track: If you are interested in CICS Systems Programming...
Symposium: zNextGen
Classification Technical
Speaker: Gene Hudders, C\Trek Corporation
Abstract: The System Initialization Table (SIT) is an important table that is used to provide the CICS system with initial values and options required and used during CICS execution. Over the years new SIT parameters have been introduced, some parameters have been eliminated and some parameters have had their options changed. However, many installations continue to use the same SIT with minor modifications or accepting the defaults without giving any consideration to the effect that the parameters may have on the system and in particular CPU utilization. In this session, the speaker covers most of the more important SIT parameters that should be analyzed to ensure the proper setting to ensure that CPU cycles are not wasted. The proper definition of these parameters is important to the performance tuning of a production CICS system. This session is useful for both the experienced and novice CICS system programmer.
